Lift through your barriers :)

Fitness

We all have those days where we feel like we cannot do it. We all have those things that we feel that we cannot have. We all have those dreams that some times we feel that we will never achieve. What I believe that the gym can teach us is that all these feelings and beliefs are simply barriers within our minds that can be overcome. I love and always refer to the quote that ‘every professional was once an amateur’. Every goal that you have ever set is simply achieved by working through the mental barriers in your mind to reach that level of consciousness of having it in the now. The strength is in the journey of working through these barriers. So what does this have to do with health and fitness? The gym to me is a place that we can go to show us that the body can go and do whatever the mind pushes it to do. We are talking here about being pushed out of your comfort zone and becoming comfortable with being uncomfortable. Growth happens outside of your comfort zone, at first the fear can be sickening, gut wrenching and sometimes seem so hard that it makes you want to cry. Over time and the more you are outside of your comfort zone the more comfortable it becomes. What was once super hard becomes your new norm. You may look at pictures of your dream body, look at your idols from afar and think that it is out of your reach. I believe it is all mindset and believing in yourself that you can do that too. Nothing is out of your reach; no goal or dream is ever too big or unachievable. Feel the fear of a new meal plan, feel the fear of a new training program, embrace the self-doubt, sabotaging thoughts and feelings and do it anyway. Everything that you want is on the other side of fear and emotions no matter how hard they seem are always safe and temporary.
